From Vision to Product with Efficiency

Course Overview

Products must be efficient, meet customer needs precisely, and be delivered quickly: For the product owner of an agile development team, this is a real challenge. To master this, we need a targeted and efficient approach. In this interactive workshop, we use various mapping techniques to work out how to move from a vision to a value-creating product.

You will get to know the following procedure:

Impact Mapping, Story Mapping, Example Mapping, Valuable Solutions

Mapping Methods

Impact mapping helps us to define what the desired project goal is with clarity. Why do we do this, and what impact do we expect? How can we achieve the most beneficial behaviour for our target group?

These goals are taken up in story mapping and broken down into user activities, epics and user stories. This process gives the project a clear direction and prioritizes the work. This way, we always implement what is most beneficial for the user and the company first.

With example mapping, we provide acceptance criteria to the user stories. Examples show that the plan is implementable.

This toolset ensures a common thread from the vision to the product, and it creates the basis for the necessary understanding for all participants. In the workshop, we explain the existing theory in an easily understandable way. And all participants can apply the techniques utilizing a real example and thus directly implement what they have learned.

Course Objectives

Through the workshop, you will be familiar with various mapping techniques and will be able to use them in your context.

Based on two concrete exercise projects:

  • Go through the mapping process, which promotes structured solution-finding.
  • Apply the core tools and methods
  • Learn to identify the most effective course of action to implement the most beneficial solution

Additional benefits:

  • The mapping workshops take place in small groups with a maximum of 12 participants to ensure optimal learning success and promote personal exchange.
  • You will receive all the teaching material with valuable literature recommendations.
  • You will receive an exclusive WalkTheWalk certificate for your participation.

Course Overview

  • Introduction to the method and developing an understanding of the different mapping techniques
  • Practice and deepen the individual techniques with practical examples
  • Develop different mappings for a complete use case in the context of a team
