The fourth Voxxed Days Zurich attracted more participants than ever

Voxxed Days Zurich 2019

This year’s Voxxed Days in Zurich are over. Exactly one week ago, on the 19th of March, 517 developers met to improve their skills. A lot of companies sent whole teams to our event: UBS, for example, sent 40 employees, ELCA sent 32 and the Swiss Post 22. All in all, there were 20% more participants this year, than in 2018.

Also, 42 women attended the event. Excellent news, considering one of the conference's goals is to promote inclusiveness in the developer’s community. Meaning, that the 35 speakers of this year’s conference were a pretty diverse group of people as well. However, Voxxed Days Zurich is a local event for local developers and companies. 40% of the speakers work in Switzerland. Even so, the keynote speech was given by the award-winning author, founder of Agile Developer, Inc. and an instructional professor at the University of Houston, Venkat Subramaniam.

The main criteria due to which the speakers were chosen, was the content. From 244 submissions, the program committee had to pick 24 talks for the days’ agenda. The Voxxed Days Zurich were supported by many companies such as Oracle, Swiss Post, hp, mimacom, Hazelcast, ELCA, RedHat, and 42talents. Allowing it to be an event organized from the local developers' community for the local developers' community, the prices were therefore held low.

The fourth edition of Zurich's version of Voxxed Days was a success. The planning already started for the 5th edition. The next Voxxed Days in Switzerland will take place in Geneva, on 1st May and in Ticino on 5th October.
